Now he uses automail, made by Winry and her Grandmother. then they try to become really good at alchemy, try to get the philosophers stone, which is supposed to help, to get al's body back and ed's arm and leg...

He transfers from Musashinomori School to Sakura Josui Junior High School for better hopes to make the soccer team, since he never got a game at his old school due to his small stature. Yūko Katori, his teacher, introduces him as a former star of the famed Musashinomori team, causing his classmates to be wrongly ecstatic. Right after that, one of the players, Tatsuya Mizuno, reveals that he was never a regular. In other words, since he never got the chance to play, Shō is a poor player. Shō struggles to improve his skill so he can make the team at his new school and to ignore the drastic disadvantage he has due to his height.Whistle is one kind of a story that taught you a lesson about keep trying your best, within a goal Sho try to reach out, but just trying your best is it enough?

Outwardly Karin Maaka seems every bit the normal (if cute) little high school girl, but in reality she's the middle child in a family of vampires which settled in Japan in decades past. Even amongst her kindred Karin is an oddity, however; she lacks many normal vampire traits but is able to function during the day. Most importantly, she has an abundance of blood rather than a shortage of it, so instead of draining blood from people she bites, she gives blood to them, an experience which can potentially have beneficial side effects for the “victim.” And if she doesn't do it on a monthly basis, she experiences gushing nosebleeds!

Yusuke Urameshi is a street-brawling delinquent with a tough guy approach to everything. Yusuke's mother Atsuko, an alcoholic, had him at the age of 14 and shows little interest in raising her son. He has a reserved seat in the guidance counselor's office, and numerous other delinquents in the city are trying to take him on. Yusuke is pretty fed up with life.

However, no one expects a sudden act of heroism on his part: he dies trying to save a little boy from a speeding car. In fact, when he arrives in the afterlife, he is informed that no one was expecting him to die that way, and were not prepared for his arrival.

It started running in Japan in Weekly Shonen Jump in the 14th issue of 1998. As of volume 20 the manga has sold over 36,958,000 copies in Japan. The manga has also been translated to different languages in many countries around the world. It has spawned an anime series, whose story is continued in three OVAs.

In the last few years, there have been several long breaks in the release of the manga. Most recently, the manga was put on hiatus in mid-2006, and resumed on October 6, 2007.

In the first major story arc, Gon takes a series of bizarre tests to become a Hunter himself, which include such things as navigating a deadly jungle, hunting other applicants, killing a wild boar, an extraordinarily long underground marathon and making sushi. During the Hunter Test, Gon meets and befriends three of the other applicants, Kurapika, Killua and Leorio.
