What Manga Stereotype Are You?

Take this quiz at your own risk. I am not responsible for any damage its results may cause to your ego.  Remember, this is just for fun.  Only you know what you really are.  Good luck!

-----------------------

1. Why are you interested in manga?
I like the dark themes and versatile art form.
My favorite game came from Japan, and I want to read it's manga.
I want to learn more about the anime I'm obsessed with.
It seems like a great alternative to American comics.
I'd heard a lot about it, and thought I'd see for myself what all the fuss was about.
Everyone I know was getting into it, and it seemed like the next "thing."
I like the romantic themes and attractive characters.

2. What format do you prefer your manga to be in?
Dark.
Format? Bilingual? What's that?
Oh, I'll take anything! English, Japanese, bilingual-- it's all good!! I even have back up copies...
Bilingual. You should try to learn a bit of the language while you read.
English. I can't understand it any other way.
Whatever I can understand!
I basically collect the manga so it doesn't matter if I can read it.

3. Have you ever tried learning Japanese?
No, I lack the motivation.
No, why would I? My favorite manga will be published in English eventually.
I've considered it.
Yes, repeatedly. In fact, I have pen pals in Japan.
Yes. Manga is corrupted when published in English.
No, but it would be cool.
What?! Me?! Learn Japanese?! Ha!

4. What genre(s) of manga do you like?
Horror, occult, fantasy... the works.
Manga about fighting and games.
Popular titles.
I don't have a genre preference. I like whatever has good writing and art.
I don't know.
How could I pick? I love all manga genres!
Shoujo, romance, and comedy are my cup of tea.

5. When you hear "manga," the first thing to come to your mind is...
beautiful characters in surreal environments populated by amazing monsters.
big eyes, tiny mouths, and funky hair.
"something for everybody."
monsters and dueling.
motionless entertainment.
That's a Japanese word for comics, right?
Sailor Moon!!!

6. What is the difference (if any) between manga and anime?
That's a stupid question. This quiz sucks.
Manga and anime have very different manners of conveying emotion and plot.
Anime is animated and manga is drawn. "Anime" comes from the borrowed word "animation"...
Uh, I'm still not clear on what anime and manga are.
They look the same!!  What's the difference?

7.What does the word "Ameri-manga" mean to you?
I knew this quiz was stupid. Manga made in America. Duh.
OH MY GAAAWD! The end of civilization as we know it!
Ameri-manga is always in English!
Imitation manga.
Wait... If "manga" is Japanese comics, then "Ameri-manga" would be American Japanese comics? I'm confused.
American comics drawn in the manga style. They're only nice if there's a love story or a really cute/funny character.

8. A comic convention comes to town!  You...
sulk at home or outside the convention center.
just go have fun at the convention!
cosplay as your favorite character and flaunt your product of months of painstaking labor!
go with all your friends and make fun of the losers.
put on a token ornament (such as a pin) to suggest your manga devotion and hassle all the creators.
go with all your friends and drool over the comic creators while stocking up on your fave manga.
take your Gameboy and gaming cards. Hopefully you'll meet some others of your type there and have a duel.

9. Besides manga, what is another one of your major interests?
The supernatural and occult.
Anime.
Love!
Manga wasn't a major interest of mine in the first place!
My friends.
Politics.
Video and card games.

10. Which of these colors is your favorite?  (This is a relevant question.)
black
purple
green
blue
pink, orange, or yellow
red
