I still think you're leaving

I still think you're leaving out an awful lot of Japanese woodblock-print funnies makers.

I had to put Tezuka seeing

Anime Punk Joey; Saturday, May 20, 2006 - 14:15

I had to put Tezuka seeing as I'm not exactly familiar with the others and Tezuka was the progenitor of modern comics in at least one country. He wasn't the first manga-ka, but he is responsible for the dynamic art style modeled after camera angling that we all adore in our manga. We can thank good ole Walter for the big shiney eyes though.

IMO...

quamp; Saturday, May 20, 2006 - 21:54

We really can't be sure who is the originator of modern comics, as several started at the same time.

You know I can't really vote

akumuko; Sunday, May 21, 2006 - 15:39

You know I can't really vote on this one. I think don't think I can make just one choice. I would go Tezuka, but I don't want to just because I'm strictly manga, before that I was hardcore american. In someways I still am. I will take BATMAN: The Dark Knight Returns almost over any manga book I have.

There's no right answer, I

David Doub; Monday, May 22, 2006 - 23:14

There's no right answer, I was just curious on how everyone view it. Since there's no official "creator" of comics, then it's all open to interpretation. Also it wasn't meant to be an anthropology quiz, so I kept it more on the modern side so it would have more relevance.

If you notice there's a creator from the 3 world leaders in comics, Asia, American and Europe.

Huh. . .

Reiko Kitsune; Thursday, June 15, 2006 - 03:14

I voted for Tezuka, 'cause I believe that he did have allot to do with revalution, but he isn't the only one.

And, no offence, but the works you put up for the artist, (The Yellow Kid, TinTin, etc.) I've either never heard of, or never really liked.

I'm not trying to insult your choices on what you put up, but do you have any other selections of what each drew?

I want to get a bette feel for each of their styles.

What did you expect, Did you expectg me to love, love you with a heart I've never had?
