Chances are slim to none that anyone here is still in school at this point in July. Anyway, I don't want to sound like I'm barking, but what I'd really love to see is an effort. We all have lives to attend to, but posting at least once a day doesn't really take more than 5 minutes (15 if you've got dial-up).

Let's all try to show the site a little more love.

I agree we gotta get the ball rolling again on the MP Jam and MP as a whole. I know I havent been around much, I have no excuses really, just havent been around. There has been alot of posting on MP about stuff I'm just not interested in, and the threads I am interested in seem to have ground to a halt.
Manga Punk doesnt feel like its about Manga and art anymore. I know there was a thread on that before, and about possibly closing MP down. I'm not saying to close it, I just really wish it was more about Art and comics again.

I am willing to make the effort to hang around the site more often and post more art threads, wrather than simply lurk off and on as I have been. *Zooms off to the art section with a difibulator*

As of March, my grades were drastically going down hill. I took a break from my computer, and then just now am slowly returning. I am so sorry for my absence. Even just occasionally visiting this site, I too notice the inactivity of the site. I guess I was just waiting for someone else to do something, apparently that method doesn't work.

When Rachel came out with the new features for this site and was so excited to write some reviews, but I never did. Again I just let someone else (aka. Joey) Do all the work, for my entertainment. Now that I'm in the dead of summer I have much more time to focus on art, and this site. I'm going to open up a topic to show off my art, perhaps write and article on the band 'Cobra Starship' and make a tutorial about shading. Now that I think about it, I have never really added anything beneficial to Manga Punk.

And speaking of school I think my grades will finally start climbing :D Down here our 2 week school holiday ends on Tuesday (my birthday) and I can get my end of semester exam results, I'm excited, I know I did well on the fist half of my first maths exam.

Well, I blame it on the fact that I've been feeling very isolated and ignored on MP as of late. I check this site daily but rarely find anything worth commenting on, and when I do it is even rarer that someone responds or recognizes what I have written. Am I lame? Am I too old? What is it?

I should try starting some new topics, though. I'll put more effort into this, I promise. I've been on this board for years now and it's become a really integral part of my routine (if nothing else) and I want to see it thrive.

I've been soooo bad about reviews that I have no excuse for them. Also recently I've been focusing on my own comic work (because comics don't market themselves), but wait that sounds like an excuse.

I'll be blunt, social interaction on the internet is everywhere. Really getting frank honest help in learning art and making manga, not so common. If you make friends at MP and what to talk that's totally cool, but don't forget why we're all here. If you can't take that seriously, don't waste the bandwidth.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but there's a point when you have to decide what you really want to do. I want to make comics, I want to make a living making comics. I want to share the joy of comics (making them and reading them) with others.

Okay, first please keep "Teh Drama" to a minimum. Comics attract all sorts of folks so of course they're will be some personality clashes. Just remember our common love of manga/comics. (Don't make me start singing 60s hippy songs).

We can't do a site redesign contest because that would be up to Rachael and it seems she's quite busy as it is. I think the Comic Jam would be a good draw to outside folks to show what we do teach (and learn) here. And then with that interest we could do a better Comic Jam 2 (yes I'm getting ahead of myself here).

My theory is that some of the MPers were posting from their schools' internet. During the summer, they don't have access to it.

Of course, they can just go down to the local library and post there...

I am so sorry, MangaPunk! AS odd as this sounds, the summer is a horrible time for me to be online, anywhere. My computer is a slow mofo (pardon the French), and triply so when it comes to the hot weather of summer. I was online last summer due to a whole hell of a lot of library time and access to someone's library card. This summer= summer school and whole hell of a lot of regular time at the library with no library card. No card, no access. Once normal school's back up and running, it'll be a lot less skimping, I promise. TT.TT
