Sadly, I believe you are right. I tend to find (and please, pardon this generalization, but I find it to be true in the majority with an understanding there is a minority, and that it sounds like a stereotype when it's not) that the more Southern States of this amazing States tend to be less educated about certain things, and find more comfort in superstitions. Of course, Northerners have their misconceptions, too, but I think a lot of the Southern stuff comes from the days of the Civil War, where a lot of the country managed to split and we still haven't managed to fully reform (despite looking like we have).

Please pardon me, I didn't mean to be rude - I just find that there seems to be a split line when it comes to religion, politcs and even superstitions.

Ah, soft drinks don't work at all as spermicides, even if they are a little acidic. Plus, using acid as a spermicide is asking for pain. And all that sugar? Doesn't belong in that part of the body. Ever.

Also, my friend recently ate food out of a pan that had been washed with bleach and not rinsed, and she was in agony for an entire day until she threw up (then she felt better). I can't even imagine what a bottlecap full would do.

Oh, I so did not see that coming. What will it take for lawmakers to realize that abstinence-only education has never and will never work?

We only get abstinance-only education up here in the North. Then again, what good is that doing us? ...Absolutely none. At least no one I know is drinking bleach.
