Palin: Are we really supposed to fall for that?

Yamino's picture
Politics Yamino - Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 15:51

Unfortunately, it's true:

Just like some people are only voting for McCain because he's Republican (even though they hate him), just like some black people are voting for Obama just because he's black, McCain's team is hoping that having a young, one-time beauty pageant winning pair of boobs is going to make him a more attractice candidate.

Yes, there are a lot of feminists who feel Hilary was treated unfairly and really want to see a woman get elected. And I'm sure that the few of them who care more about that than actual politics will probably vote for her.

I cannot see how McCain could have possibly picked another old white man to be his vice president and expected to have any chance of exciting voters to side with him. He needed something to compete with the first black president. Riling up those undecided voters who were excited for Hilary was an interesting choice, but I really hope women aren't going to fall for it.

I draw my own graphics, so don't steal, please.

You know, on that topic, I

You know, on that topic, I recently ran across This article which shows Palin's daughter, Bristol Palin, pregnant at 17.

So much for Republican family values.

Yes, it's Juno in Juneau!

Also, Here's another article about Sarah Palin's mother-in-law. She said she "may not" vote for McCain/Palin in November.

You and I both. When I found out about Palin, the first thing I did was laugh.

I heard on the radio today

quamp; Sunday, September 7, 2008 - 23:59

I heard on the radio today that the majority of fans of Sarah Palin were male. It was something like 83%.

She is definitely image over substance. Sadly, that seems to be the message that our leaders keep trying to cram down our throats.
Even worse, people are buying it.

What another reason to hate her?

quamp; Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - 01:25

Hate her for something she did? Okay, here's something else... She didn't start this fire, but she's fanning the flames somewhat.

Story here

Quote:
A $600 million bridge and highway project to link Alaska's largest city to Palin's town of 7,000 residents is moving full speed ahead, despite concerns the bridge could worsen some commuting and threaten a population of beluga whales.

Of course, had this been going to nowhere, Palin wouldn't have supported it.

Quote:
"This is basically an incredibly expensive project that doesn't help commuters, doesn't help create jobs and may drive whales to extinction," said Justin Massey, an attorney advising environmentalists opposed to the proposal. "It is also a project that serves the area where the governor is from, which is near and dear to her heart."

Well, just as long as someone makes a buck off it, who cares? [/profits over people and planet mode]

Quote:
Young, Alaska's 18-term congressman, has said Alaska still lacks basic roads, railroads and bridges that were developed long ago in older and less spacious states.

That's because someone might actually use them, you know.

Quote:
Palin still supports the second bridge, officially named Don Young's Way in honor of the congressman. She called for a review of the bridge's financing plans and raised concerns about its financial risks for the state. Still, the planning process is marching forward.

Drag the pork out as long as you can, hmm? It gets worse...

Quote:
The bridge is popular with property developers — including a group comprised of Young's son-in-law, the former legislative director for indicted Republican Sen. Ted Stevens and three others — who own land across from Anchorage on the inlet's western side.

One little question though. Since when did parodying a vice-presidental candidate become bashing women in general? I heard on TV that a group of "concerned feminists" are planning a boycott of NBC, its parent company GE and their sponsors. Why? They felt Tina Fey's portrayal of Sarah Pailin on last week's Saturday Night Live was "extremely disrespectful to women in general."

Some feminists are just lost. Gender equality entails the bashing of any idiot politician, whether male of female. =/

You got to admit, for being

killijoy; Friday, September 26, 2008 - 03:04

You got to admit, for being a oversized pair of boobs, she chose a good running mate. She picked an old guy who will probably collapse his first year in office. Bada-bing: she takes over.

The baluga whales die.

We allow severely disabled babies to live only one month than die (on anti-abortion) and kill some undeserving college student with a gun who was expected to live another fifty years.

Poor baby balugas. Poor us.

Thankfully, McCain hasn't

Joamette Gil; Sunday, September 28, 2008 - 20:36

Thankfully, McCain hasn't got a sundae's chance in hell of winning this election. Obama's going to destroy him.

I wouldn't be so sure, Joey.

quamp; Tuesday, September 30, 2008 - 14:05

I wouldn't be so sure, Joey. Polls say the election is "Too close to call" at this point.
That and massive amounts of voter fraud expected are sure to make this one even more in dispute than the last one.

I just found out something: singer Jessica Simpson has endorsed McCain for president.
Yes, Ms. "25 is so old" supports John McCain.
Evil begets more evil.
