Led by Rep. John Adams, a group of state legislators have submitted a bill that would give fathers of unborn children a final say in whether or not an abortion can take place.
This is just wrong, IMO. If a woman does not want to carry a child to term, it should be her decision alone. The man should respect that decision; after all, it's not his body that will be carrying the child.
Claiming to not know the father's identity is not a viable excuse, according to the proposed legislation. Simply put: no father means no abortion.
So if the guy hits and runs, you're screwed.
In addition, women would be required to present a police report in order to prove a pregnancy is the result of rape or incest.
You know, this bill also doesn't take into account threats to the mother's life. So the father can force the mother to have the child, even if it means she'll die from it.
This is a travesty of justice, pure and simple.
If a woman is not allowed to control her own body, what can she be allowed to control?
