Princess Of The Damned

Writing DreamingSoul - Tuesday, March 25, 2008 - 14:57

Well... Here's the first story I submitted to an agent... When I started writing it, I had some misgivings about it since I'm a christian and all. And what many readers would think of it. Surprisingly enough though, some people liked it, but... It's the religious nuts I'm rather leery of. I figure they may overlook the storyline, and just call me a heathen or Satan Worshiper. Or Since the main character is destined to be the "Anti- Christ," I may be precieved as naive, or ignorant of the truth. Or the biggest thing is, "I may be under the devil's influences!" Those thoughts bother me as I write the second book, but in any case here's the storyline:

In the year 1889 in the deepest pits of Hell a new born Hell spawn emerged from the womb of the betrothed of the duke Azazzel. This newborn demoness is dubbed the name Luciami, and as foretold, is chosen over Mammon to be The Anti-christ. However this choosing doesn't not come without some resistance from Luciami's mother, Mandra. But when Lucifer comes to visit he persuades Mandra to give up Luciami by threatening her life, as well as the life of Luciami's older sister, Belime. So once Mandra complies to Lucifer's demands, He transfers his powers into the infant's tiny body, and in the year 1989, sends her to the mortal realm to be raised by occultist, so that she can learn the necessary spells needed to bring forth Armageddon. However as Luciami lay in a black basket in the middle of a hiking trail, she is discovered by a christian couple, and raised as their adopted daughter. Taking note of the horns on Luciami's head, as well as her crimson eyes, and red hair, as well as her unusual powers, and at times violent nature, they mislead her into thinking that she was a mutant. So for nine years Luciami lives under the thought that she was a human with special powers, and unique attributes, until she is attacked by a Catholic Monk, who is startled by her appearance. Upon running into a museum, Luciami sees a painting of Lucifer, and when she takes note of her resemblance to him, Luciami falls to her knees, and cries. After a few minutes of crying Luciami then wonders why she was left in the human world, and then comes to the conclusion that she must seek redemption from God.
So five years later after meeting a gothic/emo human girl named Anna who was also born with demonic abilities, Luciami sets out on her quest to seek Salvation. On their quest, Luciami, and Anna meet a demonic- angelic hybrid named Damon, as he recruits them into a demon hunting organization. And as they travel the world hunting demons, they meet a wide array of people, such as monks, psychics, and a demonic rock band. Luciami is also being hunted by a holy organization. An organization formed by christians and Catholics who believe that it is their duty to save humanity from Armageddon. But it is unknown to the this organization that they are being deceived by Mammon, so that he may get rid of Luciami, and assume the roll as the Anti-christ.

Awesome!

I loved it too! Especially the twist about Mammon! Brilliant! Don't worry about what christians (or others for that matter) think. I also am christian but I know the diffrence between someone being creative (you) and someone being blastphemous. Some of my favorite animes, movies and comics (that were also very popular) had plots with themes similar to yours (for example: Chrono Crusade, Constantine and Hellboy) so don't worry about ticking anyone off.

Also, I think some other MPers had similar issues with their mangas so I'm sure you'll find plently of support.

@ WaterFaerie

Well there goes another one... Of course you're probably a writing genius....

@ Ren Chancrusade

Thanks for the reminder... I just remembered that interesting little fact that many MPers undergo a similar situation, when I remembered This.

As for the twist about Mammon posing as God, I had many missing puzzel pieces. One being that "The Army Of God's Right Hand" had dark powers digiused as celestial abilities. Second, in the twelveth chapter of the second book of this series, I had the renegade "Demon Buster" Charlie's soul inhabit a demonic entity, while Luciami's guardian angel, Rose tried to convince him that she was really an angel, and not a demon in disgiuse. But the thing that pieced it all together was when my father shared with me that Lucifer can transform into an angel in order to decieve man, seeing as how he was once an angel. That combined with the reminder from one of my brother's friends that Mammon is the Anti-christ seemed to bring all the pieces together in my mind to where I came upwith a satisfying scenario that would make sense to the readers...

Also some of "Princess Of The Damned" was inspired by "Constantine," and "HellBoy."
