Do you have trouble with your anatomy?

Do you wish you had models to pose for you so you could practice?

Don't know anyone willing to go nekkid to help you become a better artist?

Well, these models even took their skin off for you:

That's for you, kids.

this is great

Whoever did those is doing some amazingly strange poses.. But natural.. Do you think that if you can draw each of those enough times that you would be able to draw a person of any size and shape in any position? I dont know.. It's so much practice to me that it's overwhealming and I cant stand it when a teacher gives me a huge assignment that is vital.. I am an artist and I have tried to learn annatomy but gave up after finding out how hard it was.. Do u have any suggestions, helpfull tips or insight on my situation?

That's amazing... and sooo useful, I always had problems with Anatomy, all my characters had to be either in certain positions or I had to copy poses from other characters... nice one Jo :P

Kurenai: All I can really

Anime Punk Joey; Sunday, May 4, 2008 - 05:07

Kurenai: All I can really say is that you need to accept that being an artist is hard work. Embrace that fact, and do the hard work. If you don't suffer through the practicing, you'll never get better. That's all there is to it.

You might want to start out by giving yourself assignments that challenge you (make you do something you're not good at already) while still being less than overwhelming (don't assign yourself 50 pose drawings in one day). And yes, understanding the way the muscles are structured, how they move, is key to making believable characters. Once you've mastered basic principles, it's easier to experiment with more variety (shorter people, fatter people, skinnier people, stronger people, etc). Do keep in mind that this site will not teach you absolutely everything.

I like it that site... *puts in mental favorites list*. There are quite a few poses in there I have had trouble doing - and by trouble I mean completely failing. (lol)
Nice site, Joey!
