Studio Max!!! There are 2 main ones, I have only ever used Max. Also I think most of the major companies, like the ones that 3D model and render for blockbuster movie titles are using Max at the moment.

I'll see what I can find out, but I hve heard good things about Max.

A little over 8000 I think... but it's not exactly £4000 anyway, it's between £2000 and £4000... plus prices will be different in different countries.

I'm glad I get almost all my software and hardware on discount because my dad's a teacher and has crazy connections.

$8000 is allot, I couldn't imagine spending that much on anything (obvious exceptions: car/house/etc.)

If you can find a house for $8000... then I would like you to become my estate agent please :)

I'm sure I could find one for $8000, it might just be a little shack wit no lawn, in a horrible neighborhood and may just be a joke about passing any inspections of any kind. But it'll be cheap and the graffiti art all around is sure to inspire anyone, we're not sure what it will inspire them to do, but its still inspiration.

You may also have to combat the hobo's for it.

Back to subject, I have always wanted Max... but I can't even nearly afford it :) why do they make it so expensive :(

The town where I am in Australia has made in on the national news for the gargantuan jump in property prices. 6 years ago a house (rather large house, 2 levels) made it into the local news paper for being $400,000ish for being top of the market and one of the highest priced houses in the area. 2 years ago it was sold again for 2.5 million, no improvements, just a price jump. Its still rising...
Point being, where I live it's $8000 for a shipping container in a friends yard, dozens and maybe even hundreds of families are living like this in my area.

That sounds like some intense beef, especially considering that entire short films have been produced using nothing but this single program.
