I like it. If i were you i'd

Ren-chancrusade; Thursday, October 25, 2007 - 18:41

I like it. If i were you i'd stick with your own style. Plus, manga is different for every creator. So, don't let anyone tell you that what you are doing is wrong. After all, if there was a right way, then all manga would look the same, no?

I love the one that says

WaterFaerie; Thursday, October 25, 2007 - 20:38

I love the one that says "Cut Here". It is really great. You have an awesome style. And believe me, every style is different. Your style is as great as anyone elses.

Alot of creators emulate

David Doub; Friday, October 26, 2007 - 05:26

Alot of creators emulate other artists and styles until they find their own "voice" or style. My opinion is that you're evolving normally like any artist does. Just stick with your style and see where it takes you.

I think you should worry

LisJ; Friday, October 26, 2007 - 18:47

I think you should worry more about studying the body so you can bring more dynamic poses to your art, rather than what style you should be drawing in. Do what feels natural.

Your style is real manga,

Reiko Kitsune; Friday, October 26, 2007 - 22:38

Your style is real manga, there is no right or wrong way to draw it, you said it was fun to draw your way, so draw your way. Or you could stick with the way you orginaly drew to work on you body dynamics and then try it incorperate what you learned into your own style.

Balance the two kinds of art you draw.

"Life's A Balancing Act" quote by me, when I first joined Manga Punk.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've never has a heart, Never know love.
Yet you expect me to care, to care about you.
Now you're staring at me, You stare at me as your love fades to grey.
What did you expect, Did you expectg me to love, love you with a heart I've never had?
The only real devaition is the outlines, but nice neat outlines are almost a thing of the past anyway
Personally, I think that
SOPHIA; Saturday, October 27, 2007 - 18:09
Personally, I think that your 'manga' style drawings are better, but becuase manga is such a wide area of art, your drawings below could easily count as manga and if you feel more comfortable drawing that way dude then you should stick with it.
I'd be careful, Siki. Doing
Joamette Gil; Saturday, October 27, 2007 - 22:35
I'd be careful, Siki. Doing something for the sole fact that others prefer it is never really a good idea. I mean, isn't your love for art the reason you draw in the first place? Why draw at all if you're not going to draw the way that makes you feel best?
Well, in my honest opinion,
Joamette Gil; Monday, October 29, 2007 - 06:48
Well, in my honest opinion, there's already enough manga out there. I'd much rather see something different. When I see a bunch of manga together, I don't think, "Yes! The stuff that's good!" I think: "Oh great... more of that stuff." Part of being successful at anything is setting yourself apart from those around you, whether by finding your own unique voice or expressing that voice in a style that's all your own. In terms of marketability, what style you draw in won't really make a lick of difference. Sure, you may appeal to some people who happen to be obsessed with the mange-style and don't care about anything else when it comes to a piece of sequential art; however, simultaneously, you will be displeasing the countless people that either a) don't even like that style or b) are tired of that style and hoping to find something new and different.
That's why I think the best thing you could do is be true to yourself, and focus more on becoming good at what you do.
you know what..you are
Sikicool; Tuesday, October 30, 2007 - 12:37
you know what..you are right....I will not focus on that question anymore...altgo its still not clear...I mean I lvoe manga and I started drawing manga but withoud notecing I created something this is a slight different from the original manga...so I was like:should I work on it more and add more elements that I would like or become a traditional manga artist...but in the end...I will true to follow your advice...its not that I would ever become a sucsefull drawing artist so I wont be rly thinking about this anymore...I was rly glad reading other ppl opinions some of them understand me some not, but anyway....I will do whats more natural to me draw what I fell to draw not focusing on should it became manga at the end or something else...I guess you are right...maybe time will show whats best for me...
haha this might be the last manga Iv draw so far X3 (you cant belive how much I tried on this drawing, but still under working on all that pressure somehow I dont like the result x(........)
I much more enjoyed playing with this stuff....:3
Hah, have some confidence,
Joamette Gil; Saturday, November 3, 2007 - 07:28
Hah, have some confidence, Siki! You can definitely become a successful artist if you put your mind to it. Like all things, it takes time and effort. All I'm saying is don't lose yourself on the path to success; a big part of what it means to be successful is being happy about where you are and what you do. :)
I say draw what you want to.
Neila; Saturday, November 10, 2007 - 17:39
I say draw what you want to. If you want to develope your style then go at it, its interesting and haveing a different style helps one to stand out in the buisness. ^_^
"Manga" isnt limited to just one style anyway, so go at it however you like.
You're work on here is interesting, would you like any cretiques?
The main things I notice about your work is the anatomy needs work, namely arms. I think its something everyone needs to work on and theres no end to the improvements one can make, but I suggest you work on studying arms and hands. Studying your own arms, hands and those of models and people in magazine might help; try sketching what you see and put it next to the origional to compare. They can be tricky, but its best to tackle the things that are tricky. (I have pages of sketches of just hands >_> and I still think I need to practice more.)
I really like your color choices on your pieces and your compositions are all very intersting. Each time I look at them I find something else in it that I missed the first time, its nice to see pieces that keep pleasently surprising me each time I look at them. ^_^ I think that's a very powerful aspect of your work.
I look forward to seeing more work from you posted on the boards and DA. ^_^
