Review:

For goth-girl Raven, dating her dream boyfriend is complicated, especially because Alexander's secret means that they can see each other only at night.

And now the pair must be extra wary in the dark with Alexander's archrival, Jagger, appearing around town. As if Jagger isn't enough cause for worry, Luna, his strikingly pale sister, has also surfaced and seems to have her sights set on Raven's longtime nemesis, Trevor. Together, Raven and Alexander must begin a terrifying search for Jagger and Luna's hideout to drive them away -- that is, if it's not already too late to save Dullsville from becoming Vampireville.

In the latest installment of her popular Vampire Kisses books, Ellen Schreiber continues the startling story of two teen outsiders -- she from the mortal world and he from the Underworld -- who share a thrilling, extraordinary romance.

Raven is back with her vampire beau Alexander in VAMPIREVILLE. Not much background is given here, so readers should definitely go back and read the first two books in this funny series by Ellen Schreiber to prepare for this adventure.

In this volume, Raven and Alexander try to meet for the few hours each day when both are awake. Raven is literally dying to have Alexander turn her into a vampire on sacred ground (like a cemetery), making her his eternal mate. But he likes her for who she is and is unwilling to take that final step.

The problem is that Raven has to pretend to be a vampire so the real vampire twins, Luna and Jagger, will stop trying to make Alexander into Luna's mate. Alexander was promised to Luna since birth and decided not to turn her into his vampire, suggesting that they each find true love instead. Maybe both twins will think that Raven and Alexander are taken and will leave them alone, right?

Wrong! Instead they keep looking to prove that Raven is not a vampire, which of course she isn't; at the same time they try to turn Raven's mortal nemesis jock Trevor into a vampire too. Raven doesn't like Trevor, but she doesn't want to see him become a vampire without his knowing what's going on. Each time she thwarts Luna and Jagger, they get away. When Raven converses with Luna a couple of times, she doesn't realize that they actually have a lot in common --- both feel like outsiders.

In between keeping those roles straight, Raven is trying to fit in girltime with her real best friend Becky, who has her own jock boyfriend, Matt. She also tries to keep Becky and the town of Dullsville from knowing about all the vampires running around. It's a lot for a Goth girl to handle. Fans eagerly will try to keep up with Raven and Alexander in this twisted, fun tale.
