Synopsis:
The Angel Troupe continues its voyage to safety and makes a stop at Planet Oasia, known for its hot springs. Ranpha has an ulterior motive for going to the planet- to find the "Secret Hot Spring" that will foretell her future lover. Of course, things don't always go as planned...
Ranpha and Milfeulle fall into Lulu's trap and are captured. Lulu demands that Takuto hand over Prince Shiva in exchange for their safe return. What will Takuto do!?
Review:
The Galaxy Angel Troupe is back again and bringing more chibiness, exaggerated comedy along with a hint of romance and a bit of action thrown in for good measure.
This volume goes on to explain more about a group of children voyagers and Ranpha's feelings for Takuto. At the same time, the book delivers more action than the last volume, but the action is often broken up by comedy, so the series is still pretty mild.
New characters are introduced as well as new motives, however, there is still no big explanation why the Prince is desired. I guess the villains just want him dead.
Anyway, while I recommend this book over Vol. 2, I can't say the character development is huge or anything. The art is still nice, but you can hardly see the same art on each page because the artist switches from normal to chibi or throws in exaggerated expressions a lot.
I do recommend this book to comedy sci-fi fans and early teens and I must say that you don't really need Vol. 1 to get into the story, but since the series is only a 5 book series, you may as well buy each volume.
Volume 3 will be released early next year, so pick up volumes 1 and 2 this Winter season!
