Synopsis:

Read or Dream is the story of three sisters who all have the ability to manipulate paper in the most curious and devastating ways. From paper familiars in the shape of animals to attack, to paper archery, and lethal razor-edged index cards capable of cutting through any hard substances.

Michelle Chan is the eldest sister and the hopeless romantic and hardcore book collector who would not think twice of buying the whole bookstore. Maggie is the middle sister, who is quiet and introverted and extremely tall and gets mistaken for a boy a lot.. And the youngest sister, Anita, who is the tomboy in the family and will scold her sisters, if necessary if they go overboard on buying books.

Together they work in the Paper Sisters Detective Agency where they solve any cases that might sometimes involve, books!

Review:

Read or Dream is a manga that is filled with non-stop hilarity and adventure among the three sisters. It also reveals Kurata's knowledge of the literary world with many references to novels and other biblio-related ideologies. Not only that, but it also shows the sisters' strong bond as they face many difficult cases and the pains of sisterhood.

I gave it an eight, due to some mild fan-service, heh. ^_^;

Thank you for taking the time to contribute a review, DPF! :)

I am dying to watch the original movie behind all of this paper-bending business (Read or Die). I can't bring myself to read the books without doing so (ironic?).
