"With Hope in Our Hearts and Fists in the Air, We Sing for Change"

Music: Rise Against
Mood: Ready and Eager

So, 'Zines...check, comrades...check, bandana...check, hoodie...check; 'kay ready for the protest then. Seven hour trip down to D.C. for the big Anti-War rally tomorrow. It's meant to pressure the Dems into withdrawing immeadiately. It won't work, but the Black Bloc's still gonna march, regardless of the odds. I, for one, intend to join 'em and all the peacenik crowd that United for PEace and Justice is bringing. Always meet sympathizers and progressives and all that sort at these things.
'Course, it'd help if the democrats weren't, in the words of my sister, "a right-wing party masquerading as a left-wing party." but C'est la vie, yeah?

Anyway, gotta go. Wish me luck!

"And just like that, it was over... The last flames flickered and died amidst the rubble of an empire[.] As the smoke rose into the blackened sky, we realized that the world we had known was gone forever." - Eric "Doc" Griffin on the fall

I was in DC just this

Hairballed Kat; Friday, January 26, 2007 - 20:08

I was in DC just this morning for a youth writer's conference. It's such a beautiful city...

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of immediate withdrawal, but I still love peace and the rallies thereof. I'll probably catch snippets of it on C-Span. Good luck!

Pull down the future with the one you love.

I certainly hope it doesn't

I certainly hope it doesn't work. Screwing with Iraq and then leaving while their state is still in shambles would just be adding salt to the wound, in my opinion. I still hope you meet plenty of cool progressive types (and that your rally at least shakes up the dems into being a bit more useful for once). :)
