Sand Chronicles by Ashihara Hinako

Hi, my friends! Hane you read Sand Chronicles yet? I find this series is really good to worth reading!

Twelve-year-old Ann and her divorced mother move from big city Tokyo to her mother's rural hometown. How will Ann survive her exile from civilization? Then, when her mother commits suicide, Ann has to grow up fast. As the years pass, Ann learns to trust and depend on her new friends--Daigo and aristocratic siblings Fuji and Shika. But when Ann moves back to Tokyo to be with her father, will she be able to maintain a long-distance relationship with Daigo? And do Fuji and Shika harbor romantic feelings of their own that might rip their childhood friendships apart...?

This manga is one of the best in my opinion, if you're looking into the genre of shoujo. The characters are realistic-ish and the story is very cute and sweet, but it starts off dramatically, with a few cliche shoujo moments between Ann and Daigo, but nevertheless problems arise left and right and you never know what to expect. All in all, the plot is very suspenseful and keeps your interest....One of the best shoujos should be able to keep you interested in what happens to the main couple in the story and this story is able to do that. I love it It's a recommend for ALL manga-fans, who like deep storys with characters like you and me. And the best: the story starts at the end, but you don't know, how it will end!

Cured by this manga: Sketchbook!

Pandachan; Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 06:27

Sketchbook is a four-panel comic strip written and illustrated by Totan Kobako. The story revolves around a group of high school students, mostly female, in the art club at their high school. The main character is a young, shy and quiet girl named Sora Kajiwara who goes through life at her own pace. The manga was first serialized in the Japanese shōnen manga magazine Comic Blade. The manga has made additional appearances in another manga magazine named Comic Blade Masamune. An anime adaptation, under the title Sketchbook ~full color'S~, began airing in Japan.

From Azumanga Daioh to Sketchbook, the four-panel comic form seems to be increasingly popular. This form of manga always has a simple story, and a slow rhythm. If you have read a lot of manga with complex cases, you can read this kind of manga occasionally; it really can make you feel cured.

Captain Tsubasa - World Youth 60 discussion!

Pandachan; Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 06:41

Captain Tsubasa - World Youth Chapter 60 is out!!! Tsubasa stole a technique yet again. I didn't expect extra-time, I didn't think Matsuyama would be back.

As for the chapter, it's a bit unpleasant for everything to be so obvious. Sure, I liked it a lot, but Levin's transformation and rediscovering his "Friends with the ball" philosophy, Tsubasa scoring and Japan winning were pretty much certain to happen. Also that evil energy thing didn't impress me one bit and I think those pages could've been used to show a bit more from the game. In the end it was a very good chapter with Levin's fairplay, Matsuyama's return and Tsubasa's Skywing, the major highlights, but I just didn't like that the development was so predictable.

I wonder how fast the skywing shoot travels compared to the raiju in the chapter 61, obviously hyuga's raiju is probably faster as he has the stronger legs.

Riko comes back in To-LOVE-ru 106!!!

Pandachan; Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 06:50

To-LOVE-ru 106 is out!!! Riko comes back. Never thought it would happen!! I am so happy!

Could never see Mikan joking with Rito about family since they were close, but makes you wonder at least. Poor Rito gets caught up in Lala's schemes. And he lets her get away with it. Yui is falling for Rito but hasn't recognized her true feelings for him because its out of character for her. But the ending sucked a bit. I expected something worse to happen to Saruyama not Haruna.

Can't wait for the next chapter, it must be more interesting!!!!
