Haruhi turned Hikaru down. Perhaps Hikaru has expected this outcome. He assured his love to her even knows he will be rejected. Perhaps this is because Hikaru wants Haruhi understanding his feeling, or to make Tamaki face up to his own feelings to Haruhi. Haruhi told Tamaki that he was rejected by Haruhi, but he will not give up. Tamaki always thinks the host club as a family. So he has done his best to protect the simple and balanced relation among them. But he has unknowingly falling in love with Haruhi. Then he sank into a dilemma, on the one hand he dose not want to damage the relationship; on the other hand, he can not curb his love of Haruhi. When he is distressed, Hikaru has broken this balance. Then Tamaki may be able to face his true feelings of love.
In addition, from Haruhi and Hikaru’s dialogue, we can see that Hruhi also like Tamaki in fact. So, after the story may has no suspense. If they can work together to overcome difficulties on the road to love, a happy ending will belong to them.
