Just off the top of my head, any chance of perhaps giving previews of members' manga? Picture galleries? Even branching out into anime, maybe?

I second the idea of a member's manga section. I need a place for if and when I decide to actually post my work. Also, other sites with the abiltiy to post OEL manga (i.e. smackjeeves.com and tokyopop.com) are hard to be noticed by other members of the site or are dominated by elite manga-ka soldiers.

I think she does come on once in awhile, but I think that David Doub and Joey generally serve as the jefes of this site. There may be some other people in charge, but that is what I've noticed.

I'm really the only official moderator on Manga Punk. David Doub is pretty much the grand-pappy of the news section up front where you get all those neat comics reviews, interviews, and what-not that you guys rarely ever comment on (he's going to kill me for calling him "grand-pappy"...).

He and I are the most active contributors to the front page since we're pretty much the only ones that have proven time and time again that we can write professionally about something. Vikingr is doing a good job of working towards joining the ranks as well. The front page is exclusive to the best reviews and contributions on MP, so just about anyone can become a regular with some effort. :)

And that's what the main feature of this site is supposed to be: THE FRONT PAGE.

BUT not many people here pay a lot of attention to it, which is a shame since the most important things to know if you want to make it in comics are usually on there: reviews = knowledge of what makes a comic good or bad, news = facts about what's going in the industry you're so interested in being a part of, and interviews = even more industry knowledge and often tips from professionals themselves!

It doesn't update often, but that's because so few of us actually bother contributing to it. We all have lives, so the more people write front-page stuff, the more stuff there is to constantly put up without inconveniencing any one (or two) person(s).

Aside from that, though, David and I are also pools of infinite comics wisdom (sort of), so take full advantage of the fact that we're here. ;)

As for Rachel, she's been focusing primarily on her own career for a while. She's just getting into the full swing of life on her own + school + weekly comics + trying to submit to publishers, all of which = litte time for Manga Punk.

And to be quite honest with you, my friends, I'm afraid she is a bit disillusioned with MP. We're certainly not using her site for what she intended it (even if ranting about random stuff in the boards can be fun). =/ It has been getting better, of course. I've noticed a lot of new people on here who are genuinely focussed primarily on comics as well as more and more collaborative efforts arising all the time. We're headed in the right direction.

Anyway, if we want Rachel to revamp this site, we have to a) wait for her life to clear up a little and b) show her that there's more to this place than blogging about things that have nothing to do with art.

As for things like games/music for the site, that would just make this place even less about comics. I should also mention that background music isn't exactly a very intelligent site design technique. Sites are meant to be effective, not a pit of cool-yet-completely-unimportant-and-unrelated... things. My point is that it isn't something you should be looking forward to. ;)
