Joamette Gil - Thursday, December 6, 2007 - 11:51

It's 6:49. I haven't gone to bed. I'm happy. I'm depressed. I'm hopeful. I'm scared. I'm angry. I'm motivated. I'm drained. I'm sorrowful. I'm apathetic. I'm forlorn. I'm determined. I'm impatient. I'm...

...sleepy.

Wow, sounds like you have a case of insomnia. (I believe I spelled that wrong) Doesn't that bite?

Joamette Gil; Saturday, December 8, 2007 - 00:39

WaterFaerie's a girl. ;)

And no, I don't have insomnia. Just a mild case of insanity. And that's not meant as a joke: I really do think I'm losing my mind.

Hehe, I know, Carolyn. I'm just worried that my "a little" may be turning into a "clinically."

Today's a good day, though. I feel good.

I'm losing my mind

Plant; Tuesday, December 11, 2007 - 15:08

It's not so bad really. What is bad is people think you're saying it as a joke but you honestly are concerned about your mental health. Have you forgotten what a spoon is yet?

I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve, I have a history of losing my shirt...

WF: That's hilarious.

Joamette Gil; Tuesday, December 11, 2007 - 23:02

WF: That's hilarious. xD

Plant: Nah, I still know what spoons are. I do feel disconnected from reality from time to time, though. Like, I'm super-aware of the barrier between my body and my environment. It feels like watching television.

I was going to have this as my forum signiture...

Plant; Tuesday, December 11, 2007 - 23:38

But I made it my MSN PM instead "The problem isn't losing touch with reality, it's being unable to break free" my point being that losing touch with reality occasionally is better than being immersed in it 24/7.
I know the thing your talking about, when it happens to me my mind also runs away out of my control (stuff like I think of an alternate plot for a tv show O_o) its really hard to rein my mind back in.
The spoon thing is as I'm putting away the dishes I'll pick up a spoon (for example) and not be able to remember what it is or where it goes for up to 5 minutes.

I feel like I can't afford

Joamette Gil; Tuesday, December 11, 2007 - 23:58

I feel like I can't afford to lose touch with it. In a sense I guess I'm always sort of struggling to keep a firm grasp on it since I can get carried away by my idealism sometimes. Losing touch with it in the sense that I was describing above is new, and just plain scary, to me.

The closest thing I've ever experienced to the spoon thing is forgetting what a word means for a few minutes (simple, common words). My mind even stops recognizing it as English.

This is all caused by stress of course... x_x

I dunno, can just stress really do that?

Plant; Wednesday, December 12, 2007 - 00:11

I'm pretty sure there isn't.

Joamette Gil; Wednesday, December 12, 2007 - 00:14

I'm pretty sure there isn't. I haven't conked my head or anything like that. All these feelings started fairly recently actually. I can trace it back to a very specific occurrence in time.

Joamette Gil; Wednesday, December 12, 2007 - 02:53

Haha, it's okay. And yes, stress is a killer - literally. The less stress there is in your life, the longer you're likely to live. It's impossible to be free of stress, but it is a good idea to minimize it as much as possible.

Frankly, I'd rather not talk about the occurrence. Sorry - thanks for the interest, though. :)

Joey, I know how you feel.

killijoy; Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 15:21

Joey, I know how you feel. You should try to force yourself to sleep more; eat food; drink a lot; don't push yourself. Maintain a happy place. Be happy. GENIUNLY happy. Do things because you want to; not because you have to.

Hope you feel better. =3

Thank you for your hopes, love. <3
